Santorini Tomato is a legendary PDO & PGI Greek product, thanks to the island’s geology and climate.
Santorinian Tomatoes are naturally deeper red, sweeter, thicker skinned, firm outside and juicier inside, with a brightly acidic, sweet flavor. These specifics make them ideal for the making of the extremely delicious Tomato Paste, another iconic export product of Santorini, since 1920s.
Santorinian tomatoes have a distinctive, very concentrated flavor, compared to other tomatoes, with higher sugars, making them ideal for the production of tomato paste, and all other Tomato’s canned versions, in many other forms.
Needless to say, the first industrial Unit of the Island, was set up by our SANTOCALDERA producer.

Loaded with more health properties than the common tomato, Santorini Tomato products have more C & E vitamins, soluble phenols and antioxidants, especially lycopene amounts (a preventive agent for cancer, etc) than any other fruit or vegetable.
Processing of any sort, makes lycopene more available for absorption. Moreover, chopping, cooking, reducing tomatoes to a paste, squeezing them into juice etc, have similar beneficial effects taking them in.

1. SANTOCALDERA Diced Tomatoes
Diced tomato is obtained from fresh clean ripe tomatoes that are specific for dicing.
Product contains defined tomato pieces in slightly concentrated tomato juice. Diced tomatoes can contain calcium chloride as firming agent.

2. SANTOCALDERA Tomato Pulp
Tomato pulp is obtained from fresh clean ripe tomatoes. Product contains irregular tomato pieces in slightly concentrated tomato juice.
Made solely from natural and no genetically modified or transgenetic tomatoes (99% tomato, 1% salt, 0.1% citric acid). With no allergens, no preservatives, no taste aromas or color agents, no additives(*).
The product is also gluten-free. Suitable for Kosher, Halal and Vegetarean dishes.

4. SANTOCALDERA Tomato Paste
Tomato Paste of Santorini remains a Santorini staple. Tomato paste is obtained from fresh clean ripe tomatoes, has smooth and homogeneous texture, red vibrant colour and intense tomato flavour and aroma.
Tomato paste can be either Cold or Hot Break, and depending on specifications concentration ranges from 28 to 38 brix.

5. SANTOCALDERA Pizza Sauce
From 100% Greek Tomatoes. Pizza sauce or crushed tomatoes is obtained from fresh clean ripe tomatoes, has harsh homogeneous texture, red vibrant color and intense tomato flavor and aroma.
Pizza sauce is usually Hot break with concentration from 10 to 20 brix and is available with or without spices.
